John G. Llewellyn

Principal

After many years working as a public servant I finally decided to pursue my dream of being an attorney. I founded John G. Llewellyn PLLC, Attorneys and Counselors at Law, on August 1, 2005 in idyllic West Seattle. Over the years my practice has evolved to focus on Estate Planning, Probates, Guardianships and other legal and social issues concerning senior citizens.

One of the motivating reasons I started my own practice was to be able to provide legal services and information to individuals in need. As part of that goal, I volunteer my time at several Senior Centers in the Seattle area and provides no-cost legal advice to seniors and low income Seattleites, and also presents issues of law to various organizations serving senior citizens. I also serve on the boards of three non-profit foundations.

I am a fourth generation Washingtonian, through Dayton, Walla Walla, Renton, Kent and Seattle. I am a veteran of the US Army, 1972-1974, and have worked as a brewing chemist, High School teacher, entrepreneur and financial supervisor. When I am not practicing law, I enjoy skiing, sailing and cooking. In addition, I perform grueling manual labor and spend undisclosed amounts of all-too-scarce cash on Icy Road Vineyards, LLC in Hood River Oregon, where I hold the prestigious title of Juris Vinus.

Senior Attorney

I started practicing law in 1992 and have experience in a wide range of legal fields. My practice focuses on litigation and includes trust, estate, and probate disputes, personal injury claims, investment fraud, federal practice, appellate practice, dispute resolutions, and securities.

With over twenty-three years in the legal field, I’ve had the opportunity to represent a wide variety of clients in numerous areas of law, including bank transactions, financial advice, and corporate matters. However, my preference is assisting clients with personal matters involving trusts, probates, and estate conflicts.

When I am not at the office, I enjoy mountain climbing and skiing.

The administration of a decedent’s estate is often the only contact with the legal system a person may experience. It can be daunting to say the least. I chose to become a lawyer to assist individuals and families through the many challenges presented by complicated end-of-life issues. My ultimate goal is to guide my clients with a practical, easy-to-follow path through the hairy facets of Guardianship, Trust, Estate and Probate law.

I grew up in the South Puget Sound where my family has deep roots dating back to the 1800s. I attended undergrad at the University of Washington, graduating in 2005 with an English and Philosophy degree. I then obtained my Juris Doctor at the University of San Francisco in 2012. I am licensed in both California and Washington.
